New Delhi: Bodies of 35-year-old Tara Devi
and her 14-year-old daughter Kajal were found in south Delhi's Pushp
Vihar on Tuesday. They arrived in Delhi from Ramnagar yesterday to visit
a relative's place. Tara Devi and her daughter were accompanied by her
husband Jagdish, who has been absconding since the bodies were found.
The
incident came to light on Tuesday afternoon when Kamla reported to
police that on Tuesday morning her relative Jagdish, along with his wife
and daughter came to her house and since they had undergone a tiring
journey, they came to her residence to take some rest. Apart from being
relatives, Jagdish and Kamla hailed from the same village and therefore
she allowed them to stay at her house.
Kamla went to her office
and her two daughters went to their respective schools. In the afternoon
when she returned home, she was surprised to see her main gate locked.
Her neighbour helped her to unlock the gate and they were shocked to see
the corpses of Taradevi and Kajal lying on the floor.
Cops speak "The police reached the spot
after the PCR call was made and the bodies were sent for postmortem and
it was found that they both were strangulated, Taradevi's husband
Jagdish has been missing so he might be the main culprit behind the
murders," said a senior police official.
Chhaya Sharma, DCP
(south), speaking on the incident said, "Kamla is a widow with two
daughters and she is currently an employee at Central Public Works
Department (CPWD). When this incident took place, no one else from her
family was at home. We are trying to nab Jagdish and further
investigation is going on."
