Computer Running Slow/ CPU usage 100%Step 1:
go to services.msc
stop and disable the service........ XXXXX(ICS).
For Windows Vista and Windows 7 OS,
Also Stop the Service & Disable Windows Defender, Windows Image Execution & Windows Search services.
By Disabling the Windows Search Service in Win7 & vista won't disable the Active search(in short it is safe)
Disable startup items in msconfig
restart the comp
STILL IF THE ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED TRY THIS.......

Step 2:
(Only for Windows XP)To solve the problem of CPUs to 100%, firstly disable the previews:
>>Start / Run / regsvr32 -u shmedia.dll
>>Then edit the registry (Start / Run / regedit), then delete the following:
>>"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ (87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850D C73E) \ InProcServer32"
>>For systems, the key is in the following location:
>>HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ CLSID \ (87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E)
>>Just rename the making preceded by a minus sign (-):
>> -{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}

Step 3:
Press the Windows key + R (Run)
Type Regedit ......... Registry editor would come up
First Create a backup of the Registry
Select My Computer --> click on File --> export --> select Local Drive C:---> Save
Now,
1: HKey_CurrentUser\Software\Control Panel\Desktop\ -----> Follow the Below Steps:
Waittokill - Change 20000 to 100
Menushowdelay - change 400 to 2
Hungapptimeout - Change 5000 to 2
2: HKey_LocalMachine\System\-----> (ControlSet1, ControlSet2, Currentcontrolset)\----> Control\ ---> Follow the Below Step:
Waittokill - Change 20000 to 100
3: Launch Command Prompt*(CMD With ADMINISTRATOR) ----> Type the Below Command
C:\windows\system32\chkntfs c: /x ----------->>>>> (chkntfs (Main Drive Might be any e.g. D: c: ... ) /x)
Restart the computer........
